Zachary completed his MChem degree at the University of St Andrews in 2017. During his fourth year he worked with Professor Sharon Ashbrook investigating MOFs using solid-state NMR spectroscopy. In his final year, under the supervision of Dr Peter Kilian, Zachary studied the coordination chemistry of a peri-supported diphosphine. Following his undergrad degree Zachary took a year away from chemistry to serve as a Sabbatical Officer for the University of St Andrews Students’ Association, as Director of Education, before returning to undertake his PhD studies. Under the joint supervision of Professor Russell Morris and Professor Sharon Ashbrook, Zachary is continuing his work using solid-state NMR spectroscopy to analyse MOFs.
Outside of the lab Zachary enjoys running, hiking, and baking!
